ATV Safety<\/summary>\n

Our ATV  Rider course is a comprehensive 5-7 hour program that helps students identify the risks involved in a variety of maneuvers with the ATV they are using and how to manage that risk.  Students will be outdoors and are at a remote location for the majority of this course and will need to be prepared accordingly with safety equipment ex: Helmet, proper riding attire, also  packed lunch and water. With the completion of the course a Canada Safety Council certificate will be issued. Contact the office for group bookings or watch our calendar for training dates. <\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

AWP (AERIAL WORK PLATFORM)<\/summary>\n

This training is a combination of classroom instruction and practical experience. The instruction portion covers all pertinent aspects of Table 14.1 of the Saskatchewan OH&S regulations.  As of 2007, Saskatchewan OH&S legislation requires anyone who operates powered mobile equipment to have a minimum of 16 hours training.  Key elements covered is types of aerial work platforms, terminology, safe operations, maintenance and refueling. Upon completion of theory exam and practical exam, students will receive a certificate of completion valid for 3 years.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

B.A.L.A.N.C.E.<\/summary>\n

Bridging Aboriginal Lifestyles And New Career Experiences. 25 hours; 5 hours a day for 5 days. In this 5-day course students learn a combination of life skills, goal setting, budgeting, communication and much more. Students participate in resume making and job coaching. This course is designed to bring balance to your life, providing you with the tools and skills necessary to live a healthy lifestyle. This course can be tailored to your specific needs. Upon completion students will receive a certificate that has no expiry.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

CHAINSAW\/BRUSHSAW SAFETY<\/summary>\n

This is a 3-day course, which includes classroom and hands on training. Students will learn safe handling and the use of saws. The correct cutting procedures and how to care, sharpen and maintain the saws. This course is certified through Canadian Trainers Foundation and upon completion of the course students will receive a certificate of completion which is valid for 3 years.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

CONFINED SPACE ENTRY<\/summary>\n

Understand the OH&S regulations as they pertain to confined spaces; How to recognize and mark confined spaces; Identify and control confined space hazards; Identify required personal protective equipment; Become familiar with industry accepted standards and regional codes of practice; Learn how to plan a successful entry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The confined space entry portion of this course covers the provincial OH&S requirements for Saskatchewan and Alberta as well as the industry best practices and definitions that are used and applied throughout western Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A rescue portion can be added to the class by request.  The rescue portion of the course will have the participants become proficient in the use of rescue equipment and the planning involved to perform a successful confined space rescue. This is a 1-day course and upon completion students will receive a certificate of completion that is valid for 3 years.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

CSTS ’20 (CONSTRUCTION SAFETY TRAINING)<\/summary>\n

This online course is approximately 6 hours. Making sure that construction worksites are as safe as possible begins with providing basic safety training to all employees. CSTS\u201920 is the only worker-specific safety program of its kind in the province and is acknowledged industry-wide as an excellent learning tool for individuals who are either new to the construction industry or have not had formal safety training. Upon completion of this course students will receive a certificate of completion.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note CSTS\u201909 has changed to  CSTS\u201920 as of spring 2020.  <\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

DRUG & ALCOHOL TESTING<\/summary>\n

Provides a service for potential employers. All results held in complete confidence. Testing is conducted by professional\/certified technicians.  7 and 12 panel urine testing, breathalyzer and cheek swaps(for alcohol testing only).<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

FALL PROTECTION<\/summary>\n

A Fall Protection certificate is required by anyone working at heights as defined in the Saskatchewan OH&S Regulations. This course is designed to help workers understand the principles of fall protection and how they apply to the workplace. The course will meet or exceed applicable government regulations for the training of employees who work at heights. This is a 1-day course and upon completion students will receive a certificate of completion that is valid for 3 years.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

FIRE AWARENESS<\/summary>\n

This program is approximately 3 hours and was designed to give students an introduction to fire hazard awareness and to provide an introduction to fire extinguishment. Topic covered include fire components, hare hazards, basics of fire planning, fire class identification, fire extinguisher identification, use and more. Upon completion of this course students will receive a certificate of completion valid for 3 years.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

FIRE EXTINGUISHER SIMULATOR TRAINING<\/summary>\n

In this 3-hour course students are introduced to fire hazard awareness and to provide an introduction to fire extinguishment with hand held fire extinguishers. Topic covered include fire components, hazards, basics of fire planning, fire class identification, fire extinguisher identification, use and more. Upon completion students will receive a certification of completion which is valid for 3 years.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

FIRST AID & CPR INTERMEDIATE (ST. JOHN’S AMBULANCE CERTIFIED)<\/summary>\n

This is a 2-day course that covers your basic First Aid and CPR procedures including bleeding, slings, splinting broken bones, CPR and AED. The certificate is valid for 3 years. It meets the needs of OH&S Requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One day recertification course for St. John Ambulance First Aid\/CPR. Must have a valid current St. John certificate.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

FLAGGING & SIGNALING<\/summary>\n

In this \u00bd day course students will learn the duties of a flag person for highway road construction. Procedures for using the stop\/slow paddle for controlling traffic safely in a work zone. Upon completion of this course students will be certified through the Heavy Construction Safety Association of Sask and will receive a certificate of completion that is valid for 3 years<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

FOOD SAFE HANDLING<\/summary>\n

In this 1-day course students learn safe food handling procedures. Discussions on food borne illnesses and how to identify them. How to safely store food and cooking temperatures. Also, how to properly store food and protecting from contamination. Upon completion of this course students will receive a certificate of completion that is valid for 5 years.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

GLOBAL GROUND DISTURBANCE LEVELS 1 & 2<\/summary>\n

This 1-day program is designed for any party that is supervising a Ground Disturbance, independently performing a Ground Disturbance, or issuing and receiving Ground Disturbance permits. The program ensures that Level II\u00ae personnel are familiar with, and fully understand, all the regulations and variances involved when a Ground Disturbance takes place. Level II\u00ae is the standardized program recognized by industry regulators. Certification is valid for 3 years. This course is assessed to the ABCGA 201 Ground Disturbance Standard <\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

H2S ALIVE (ENERGY SAFETY CANADA CERTIFIED)<\/summary>\n

This one day course is intended for workers who could be exposed to hydrogen sulphide, also known as sour gas. Instruction will include: -properly putting on SCBA and SABA breathing apparatus, its function, inspection, and use. -the physical properties of H2S, how to recognize H2S, locations to where it can be found. -participants will learn about the types of detecting and monitoring devices, the health hazards associated with H2S gas. Training is conducted by seasoned professionals with many years experience.

MARINE FIRST AID (ST. JOHNS AMBULANCE CERTIFIED)<\/summary>\n

Marine First Aid courses meet Transport Canada regulations for training standards for marine first aid and marine medical care. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nationally recognized certificates are issued by Transport Canada and are valid for five years. Annual retraining in CPR is recommended. <\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

MEDICAL FIRST RESPONDER LEVEL 1 & 2 (ST. JOHN’S AMBULANCE CERTIFIED)<\/summary>\n

Medical First Responder (MFR) course, an advanced training program for community responders, firefighters, and workplace teams, building upon Standard First Aid with CPR-C. It provides specialized skills in advanced assessment, additional interventions, and prepares individuals to work within the emergency medical system, focusing on providing continuous care to patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Level 1 is a 40 hour program while the Level 2 is an 80 hour program.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

MINING AWARENESS<\/summary>\n

Introduction to mining, provides information regarding the mining safety requirements its regulation and safe work practices.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

E.S.C CONFINED SPACE ENTRY<\/summary>\n

In this 1-day course you will learn definition of confined and restricted spaces, confined space levels, legislation requirements, both safety and protection. This course also teaches workers about confined space hazards, PPE such as SCBA (self contained breathing apparatus), SABA (supplied air breathing apparatus), gas detections pumps, paper work such as confined space entry permits and entry logs. Upon completion of the course and a passing mark of 80% you will receive a certificate of completion that is valid for 3 years<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

E.S.C. FALL PROTECTION<\/summary>\n

Engage in hands-on training and learn protection methods for preventing falls. E.S.C. CSO<\/summary>\n

Formerly known as  OSSA Common Safety Orientation (CSO) Training is the pre-site access requirement for all new contract workers at participating OSSA member work sites. The learning objective of the Energy Safety Canada Common Safety Orientation (CSO) is to provide participants with a general awareness of critical safety initiatives found at participating OSSA Member work sites. This \u00bd day course is now available online. Upon completion of the course students will receive a certificate of completion that is valid for 3 year. Energy Safety Canada  CSO replaced the OSSA BSO course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OVERVIEW OF THE OIL & GAS INDUSTRIES<\/summary>\n

This \u00bd day course is designed to provide oil and gas professionals the opportunity to gain a technical and commercial understanding of the industry fundamentals. Some topics covered are workplace hazards and hazard control, general duties of employer and employee, the right to know and the right to refuse. Upon completion of this course students will receive a certificate of completion valid for 3 years.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

PDIC<\/summary>\n

This is a 6-8-hour online course that is done in a supervised environment. PDIC is designed to sharpen a driver\u2019s skill through a structured look at experiences and problem areas shared by all drivers such as bad weather, winter roads, pressures of time and distance, etc. This newly updated course includes topics on off-highway driving, tire blowout, and distracted driving legislation. This course focuses on drivers\u2019 expectations and analysis of dangerous situations. Upon completion of this course students will receive a letter stating this course was done in a supervised environment and a certificate of completion that is valid for 3 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PME (POWER MOBILE EQUIPMENT)<\/summary>\n

We offer a wide variety of PME Training courses. These can include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skid Steer, Telehandler, Forklift, Front End Loader, Backhoe. This training can be completed theory only or with practical as well. Once completed the student will receive a certification valid for 3 years.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

RIGGING AND HAND SIGNALS<\/summary>\n

This 1-day course is designed to give students the opportunity to learn proper hand signals, and or other means of communication. Students will learn hazard assessment, elimination and control, site specific rules and regulations e.g. Weather conditions. Students will learn OH&S codes and regulations, CSA & ANSI standards, weight calculations and proper sling applications. Upon completion of this course student will receive a certificate of completion that is valid for 3 years,<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

TDG (TRANSPORTATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS)<\/summary>\n

This is a 3-4-hour course designed to protect the public during transportation of dangerous goods. This course will help develop a clear understanding of basic TDG requirements including shippers, handlers and receivers of dangerous goods. Topics covered include classes of dangerous goods, responsibilities, placard identification reporting requirements and more. Upon completion of this course students will receive a certification of completion which is valid for 3 years.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

WHMIS<\/summary>\n

In this 3-4-hour course students will learn the responsibilities, symbol identification, introduction to controlled product classes, introduction to labels and material safety data sheets. Hazardous products can cause injuries or diseases in workers. The goal of WHMIS is to provide workers with the information they need to stay safe on the job. Students will receive certificate of completion that is valid for 3 years.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

WILDERNESS FIRST AID (ST. JOHNS AMBULANCE CERTIFIED)<\/summary>\n

In this 1 or 2 day course students are taught basic level of Wilderness & Remote First Aid that covers material in Standard First Aid & CPR, plus special material on techniques for wilderness and remote areas. Course also offers strategies for providing extended care for up to 24 hours. Part of the course is taught in an outdoor setting and requires greater physical activity and endurance than typical first aid training. Suitable for those who work or live in remote locations or who are outdoor recreation enthusiasts. Prerequisite of this course is Standard First Aid\/CPR. Upon completion students will receive a certificate of completion valid for 3 years.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

WILDERNESS SURVIVAL<\/summary>\n

Learn the basics of surviving in the wilderness. This course is both informative and entertaining through real life examples. The basic principles learned, can be used in all environments whether it\u2019s land, marine or urban based emergencies. Topics included are fire lighting under adverse conditions, shelter construction, effective signals, water procurement and treatment. Upon completion students will receive a certification of completion valid for 3 years.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

BEAR AND WILDLIFE AWARENESS (Including Inert Bear Spray)<\/summary>\n

This \u00bd day course has been designed to ensure you have a good understanding of bear safety and are able to stay safe in the event of an encounter. Topics include types of bears, bear behaviors and differences between defensive and predatory attacks. Upon completion of this course students will receive a certification of completion valid for 3 years<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

SK TRAPPER PROGRAM<\/summary>\n

This Standard Trapping course is your first step toward becoming a trapper. The course includes instruction on the safe use of traps and other equipment, biology of furbearers, animal management, marketing and grading of furs, skinning and fur handling, as well as humane trapping techniques. Upon completion students will receive a certificate of completion valid 3 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BOAT SAFE<\/summary>\n

In this 1-day course Students will learn how to safely operate a pleasure craft, aids to navigate buoys on the water, life jacket safety and emergency situations. Students will learn the rules and terminology of boating. This boating safety course is accredited by Transport Canada. Upon completion of this course students will receive a certificate of completion that does not expire.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

SERVICE BEST<\/summary>\n

In this 1-day course Students gain the knowledge to provide great customer service. This course teaches the skills for handling difficult situations with customers and how to deescalate an irate customer. This course gives students the confidence they need to be a service professional. This course is certified through Saskatchewan Tourism and once finished students will receive a certificate of recognition.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

SERVE IT RIGHT<\/summary>\n

This 1-day course provides consistent training for the sale and service of alcohol, helping commercial permittee\u2019s and their employees to ensure that alcohol-related activities are conducted with integrity and in a socially responsible manner. Students learn how to identify intoxication, handling situations involving minors and an effective approach to discontinue of refuse to sell or serve alcohol. Upon completion of this course students will receive a certificate of recognition. This course is offered online in our Self Study computer lab. <\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

RURAL AND REMOTE ROAD SAFETY<\/summary>\n

This course is designed to help drivers identify different types of road conditions and how to properly handle driving on them. The rules for traveling with a load and how to properly secure your load. Upon completion students will receive a certificate of completion that is valid for 3 years.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

TRAILER SAFETY<\/summary>\n

This is a 1\/2-day course that introduces students to trailer safety and operation. A portion of this course is theory and the other is practical. Topics include different types of trailers and their safety equipment. Also towing with special endorsements, vehicle stability and weight balancing. Students will learn to do safety checks and checklists.  Upon completion students will receive a certification of completion that is valid for 3 years.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

UTV <\/summary>\n
